Privacy network and browser routing traffic through encrypted relays for anonymity.

Overview

Tor Browser is a free, open-source web browser developed by the Tor Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing human rights and privacy online. It enables users to browse the internet anonymously by routing traffic through a decentralized network of thousands of volunteer-run relays, encrypting data at each layer to prevent tracking, surveillance, and censorship.

The browser isolates each website visit to block third-party trackers and ads, clears cookies and browsing history automatically, and resists browser fingerprinting by making all users appear similar. Originally developed starting in 2008 to make onion routing technology accessible to non-technical users, Tor Browser has become instrumental in protecting activists, journalists, and privacy-conscious individuals worldwide.
