Overview

Formance is an open-source financial infrastructure platform built around a programmable, double-entry ledger. It enables engineering teams to model any money movement using Numscript, connect to multiple payment providers and banks through unified connectors, and maintain continuous reconciliation with full auditability.

The platform addresses a core problem: every team building payment systems rebuilds the same infrastructure—ledgers, connectors, reconciliation, and orchestration—often under deadline and without the guarantees required for regulated finance. Formance provides this as a reusable, auditable foundation that stays consistent by construction, with atomic transactions and immutable records trusted by regulators and auditors.
